Science ans Social Studies

Hello and welcome to 4th grade Science and Social Studies 2016-17!!
My name is Mrs. Gale. I have been employed at Northeast Elementary for  4 years.

These next few weeks of the 9 weeks, we will be discussing sound, heat, and light.  Please allow your child to explain the fun facts they've learned about in class this week.  Ask them questions about how is heat moved or transferred.  Also ask about conduction, convection, and radiation.  They should be able to explain some common examples in everyday life situations.  Get ready to learn something new about heat!  The heat is on this week in science!!!!!

This week in Social Studies we will be working on the Northeast region of the United States.  Students will experience a virtual tour of Washington D.C and other landmarks of that region.  They will also sample some bitter and sweet resources of the Northeast.  This season is a great time to learn about the Northeast region because of the evergreen Christmas tree and the snowy White Mountains.  They will see the reins of the Caribou that migrate through the Northeast.  They'll learn about shorelines and lighthouses that this coastal region is known for.
